We welcomed Oliver to our family on Thursday morning, December 27th. The morning part was quite important to Bobby. After an early morning induction, and I mean early, Oliver was born at 11:12am. I never thought it could go as smoothly as it did. The best Christmas present ever.
Aubrey didn't know what to think about the whole situation. I think he was more freaked out about the hospital environment. The IV, the nurses, and the baby all added up to a situation that overwhelmed him. When we went home on Saturday, he came into the bedroom and said, "I am ready to hold him now!" That was the beginning of a relationship that has so far been very loving. He can talk "babytalk" with the best of them!
So far, it has been great. It may take me 2 hours to get dressed in the morning, but I have gotten dressed more than I have stayed in my pajamas. Next week may be a different story!
